Bill Barron, Chief Executive 

Responsible for the overall operations and management of the Crofting Commission, including financial controls.  Oversees the delivery of effective, consistent and transparent regulatory services.  Also ensures that Ministers, the Commission's Convener and Commissioners receive accurate information and objective advice, and that the Commission executes its statutory duties and powers fully and effectively.  Has a central role in building on external relations, co-operation and communications with key stakeholders and the wider public.

Aaron Ramsay, Head of Digital & Improvements Services

Overall responsibility for Information Services and improvement activities & efficiencies across the organisation.  Also has responsibility for GIS.

Jane Thomas, Head of Business Support & Compliance

Responsibility for Complaints, Freedom of Information requests, Data Protection/GDPR, leading on Equality & Diversity, Gaelic Language officer and Standards Officer.

Joseph Kerr, Head of Regulatory Support 

Responsibility for the overall management of the regulatory support team, which includes residency & land use.

Mary Ross, Temporary Head of Operations & Workforce

Responsibility for Regulatory and Customer Services teams, as well as Croft Registration.

David Findlay, Solicitor 

Responsible for providing the Commission with legal advice and deals with litigation involving the Commission.

Heather Mack, Head of Crofting Development

Responsible for crofting development including leading the development posts in the Western Isles.

John Toal,  Head of Policy

Supports the Board in formulating strategic policy on a range of external and internal issues in pursuit of their operating objectives. Responsible for overall management of Grazings Team.

Neil MacDonald, Head of Finance (photograph to follow)

Leads the finance team and reports to the Chief Executive or directly to the Audit & Finance Committee on all financial matters.

Responsible for ensuring that the Crofting Commission maintains robust, transparent, and auditable financial systems.  Co-ordinates all of the Commission’s financial responsibilities in terms of the Scottish Public Finance Manual and the Framework document that has been drawn up by the Scottish Government in consultation with the Commission.
